African Jim (also known as Jim Comes to Jo'burg) is a 1949 South African musical drama directed by Donald Swanson. It follows Jim, a young man who leaves his rural village for Johannesburg to find work, gets mugged upon arrival, finds sanctuary with a night watchman, discovers a hidden talent for singing, and ultimately foils a robbery while launching a successful stage career.
